Welcome To Seapoint Cycling Club

We offer a relaxed and friendly club environment for all who want to cycle with a group and those who want to develop their cycling skills.

We are based, along with the Seapoint Canoe Centre, at the Seapoint car park in Seabrook, near Folkestone in Kent.

We have regular rides throughout the year in a variety of locations in Kent, which should be suitable for pretty much everyone. The requirements for our ride locations are: good scenery, a decent pub on-route and a decent curry house for after the ride. All of our routes are suitable for most types of bicycle, including mountain bikes and hybrids. We attempt to set ride distances to suit the group on the day, dependent upon ability, fitness and of course the weather!

Our Rides List is continually updated throughout the year, with the locations decided approximately two weeks prior to the ride date. Please see the Rides page for more details and if you fancy it, come along and join us.

Our only request is that after two rides with us, we would prefer it if you join the club.

 Club History

The club itself was formed in 2011 by three friends who enjoy cycling, but  found that they really didn’t take it particularly seriously. They were more likely to end up in the pub that they were riding past than tackle the next hill. Anyway, with a bit of enthusiasm, the club was formed and a set of rides were carefully planned to ensure that they met all the necessary requirements. The intention was to finish them, despite the routes going past a few fine ale houses…

Current club members have experience of both riding and racing most disciplines and most types of bikes.
